When I moved to Wimbledon a couple of years ago, I was pleasantly surprised by how different it is to the other London boroughs I have lived in. I really felt like I had moved out to the country and this liberated feeling just keeps on growing. The energy of local residents is inspiring - runners, cyclists, horse riders, dog walkers - everyone seems to be 'health aware'.

As a bit of a fitness fanatic myself (recently had baby number 3 so going through the pain of trying to get fit again and shed the excess Philweight!) and a passion for writing, I thought it only apt that I combine the two and ever so slightly theme some of the site's content around health and fitness, particularly with the festive season just around the corner. I hope that you will find some useful tips and guidance on the site over the next few months and that in time it will become your first point of reference when looking for home help, a reliable plumber or even a mobile hairdresser.

Even if you are not looking for someone or something, I hope that the site becomes a great place to gossip and find out what is going on in and around the Wimbledon community. Forget the school gates - in time, I hope to deliver a wealth of information to your doorstep which aims to keep you in touch with local events, offers and news!
