What a great idea! A contributor to the site, Steve, has suggested we take on Time Out and do our own survey into who you think is the best in each category.

I myself have spent many happy hours discussing the various merits of the wide range of kebab-purveyors on Uxbridge Road with some friends from the Middle East. They rate Beirut, my husband swears by King Soloman's, another friend likes the ones in Naama you can take home and cook yourself and I keep menaing to try Sufi on Askew Road after it got a great review in Time Out. We are spoiled for choice in our area - a friend who moved from Hackney to rural Yorkshire nearly wept for joy when she came to stay; for her kebabs are a dim, distant memory! Middle-Eastern cuisine is a relatively cheap and healthy choice these days. With so many to choose from, why not go and try out somewhere new and then report back? I'd love to hear your personal recommendations and stories - both of old favourites and new discoveries. You can even bemoan the loss of now-defunct establishments if you like!
