Shepherd's Bush is ideally placed between Notting Hill/Holland Park and Chiswick, with fantastic transport links to the City and the West End, and a new Overground railway station joining the West to North and South London. Shepherd's Bush is currently enjoying its biggest overhaul for a long time. It has always benefitted from an eclectic mix of cultures and shops and there are still plenty of pound shops and small groceries, but its endearing shabbiness is gradually disappearing as pubs go "gastro" and local businesses spruce up their shopfronts in a bid to keep up with the glossy new Westfield development at White City. The final jewel in the crown will be the long-awaited regeneration of Shepherd's Bush Green, commencing early 2009.
