‘Off With Their Heads! The Harrow of Henry VIII’
As always the Harrow Museum present us with another interesting exhibition and is free to enter!
'Off Their Heads The Harrow of Henry VIII', reveals the secrets of Tudor Harrow and what life was like in the area 500 years ago. Fascinating facts about Tudor Harrow include charges of witchcraft in Pinner, a prosecuted eavesdropper in Stanmore, and the trouble John Lyon’s servants got up to behind his back! The exhibition also explores how plotters hiding in the Harrow area were linked to the downfall and execution of Mary Queen of Scots. Many other aspects of Tudor history are covered, including monarchy, crime and punishment, and bizarre cures! The exhibition opens on 3rd September and runs until 2nd November 2008.
Harrow Museum is also running Tudor sessions for local school children.
Children will have costumes, replica artefacts to handle and herbs for a Tudor herb graden. The Harrow Heritage Trust and The Friends of Harrow Museum have helped funding this educative activities. The Tudor sessions will be available to school on permanent basis.
