The beauty of this astonishing Natural Reserve will leave your mouth open as soon as you encounter the lake situated at the car park entrance on Reservoir Road.
The Woods consists of Bayhurst Wood, Copse Wood, Mad Bess Wood, Park Wood, Poor's Field/Ruislip Common, the Ruislip Local Nature Reserve, The Northern Finger, Grub Ground, Tarleton's Lake and surrounding land in Hillingdon. Their native trees are oaks and hornbeams. This Reserve of 755 acres of ancients woods play an important conservation role as you can find about 585 species including four that had never been recorded previously in Britain and one of the richest sites in Greater London for lichens on trees It’s a great place to go for walks and there is a children’s park near the beachside of the Woods. Also in between the Woods you will find a wonderful amenity; It’s The Ruislip Lido Railway. The Railway goes two and a quarter mile trip around the lake and through the woodlands. The Ruislip Lido Railway holds different events during the year like the Starlight Express; with trains running from 5pm-9pm taking a tour of the solar system. The Diesel Day; where you can come and see the railways locos in action and learn about how the engines works. And The Santa Specials where you will ride the train to see Santa! and Teddy Bear Special; when you can bring your teddy and ride with it! Getting there: Address: Ruislip Lido Woods. Reservoir Road, Ruislip, Middx, HA4 7TY
