Sadly Christmas is over…but we still have to take decorations away and get rid off some of the things; e.g Christmas decorations and trees. If you want to do your bit for the environment here you can find few tips.

Christmas Cards

Take your cards at WH Smith, Tesco. TK Maxx and Marks & Spencer shops from 2nd - 31st January 2009 and the Woodland Trust will recycle them and then plant 1000s of trees in five uk sites.

Christmas Trees

Dispose your Christmas tree with minimal fuss this New Year!

Harrow

Please recycle your Christmas tree in your brown bin. Chop it tree into smaller pieces (maximum 10cm / 4 inches in diameter).

Or take it to the Recycling Centre at Forward Drive, Wealdstone

For further information please call 020 8863 5611.

Hillingdon

If you have a real Christmas tree you can recycle it with your green waste collection

Alternatively you can take your tree to one of the following reuse and recycling centres in the borough:

  1. Victoria Road, South Ruislip. Middlesex. HA4 0YS
  2. New Years Green Lane. Harefield. Middlesex. UB9 6LX

For further information please call 01895 250 034

If you have other stuff you would like to recycle remember that in Pinner you can recycle your old shoes at Body Wise 65 Bridge Street; and your old glasses if you pop around Optical Day Lewis 6 Barters Walk (next to Sainsbury Pinner).

Please if you have more details about what and where to recycle around Hatch End and Eastcote just post it in the chat-room or notice board. Let’s do our bit to help and protect the environment.
