Puppy power in Penton Street
Posted on 23/5/09 by Lucy (No comments)
Everyone knows that Islington is a great place for socialising and now even puppies are getting in on the action. Doggie expert Vanessa holds six-week training courses for pups aimed at building confidence. On Saturday mornings frazzled 'parents' head to the Community Hall, Saint Silas Church, Penton Street in a bid to teach their puppies the rules of the road.
As well as making new friends the pups are taught basic commands like 'sit', 'down', 'stand', 'wait' and 'fetch' as well as manners in greeting people and other dogs. Vanessa even tackles common problems such as jumping up and play biting. As one would imagine, the lessons are not ones which can be learnt in a couple of hours, but mums and dads are sent home with a homework pack so they can keep honing their skills!
