Hammersmith is an ecclectic borough. A mixture of offices, culture, homes and beauty. It does ofcourse play a vital role for the famous Oxford and Cambridge Boat race. Hammersmith is home to probably the best day schools in London bringing to it many young families, many to be seen roaming around Ravenscourt Park. It is central without being too central and has the added bonus of a well known river running through it. There's a mixture of beautiful leafy streets to the much busier KIng Street that houses the fabulous 'Lyric' and leads onto Hammersmith Broadway and the famous Hammersmith Apollo where many a laugh has been had. Here you can get to the river past the famous vegetarian restaurant 'The Gate' to the Queen Caroline estate. Going to the left is the fantastic 'Riverside Studios' where the echoes of Chris Evans still remain. The builders cafe opposite is now alot posher and many a great play, show and film is put on opposite. To the other side is Hammersmith Bridge where one walks along the stunning river by outstanding houses and many a pub. You then go under the A4 to S.Peters Square which I think is easily one of the most beautiful squares in London. The square leads you to Chiswick High Road when going left and King Street when going right and up to Stamford Brook station straight ahead with a cheeky stop at 'The Raven' if you like.
