Parent Promoted Foundation Working Towards a Secondary School of Excellence for our Children.

As parents living in Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen, we believe that our children should enjoy the same excellence at their local secondary school that our local primary schools are providing.
At present only 10% of the current intake at Shene School live locally. Despite the high standards and popularity of our primary schools, many local families are reluctant to send their children to Shene School due to its poor academic track record and standards of behaviour.
We set up Campaign4newschool in a belief that a great local State Secondary School should be the heartbeat of every community. Over 2000 people have signed our petition wanting a local secondary school of excellence.

Edutrust, the Academy sponsor, has been chosen to turn Shene School into one of the borough’s three new academies. This gives local parents a unique opportunity to become productive partners in forming a new school on the current Shene School site.

Our new status as the Parent Promoted Foundation enables us to become productive partners with Edutrust in the formation of a new school on the current Shene School site.

This will help ensure that the local community’s needs are heard and help inform Edutrust about the best way to allocate the substantial funding that the school’s new status will provide.

We are keen to work with every individual and party that is committed to transforming Shene School into a centre of excellence for learning, both academically, in sport and the Arts. We expect our local secondary school to finally become the pride of its community once more.

We can help shape a school model that will best serve our children as individuals. Small classes and a dynamic, experienced leadership are just two key changes that would enable the school to develop strong pastoral care and a curriculum that is able to adapt to the individual needs and interests of its pupils.
