Hi, I’m Zara, your editor for East Dulwich’s best kept secret, YourLocalLondon.  We are a new but (we hope) beautifully formed, website that will provide a very local and personalised guide to East Dulwich. 

I have lived in the area for 15 years and can put my hand on my heart and say that I love living here.  I love that people know their neighbours, that people smile at you as you walk down the street, I love the shops, the bars and restaurants, I love that it's child friendly.  In essence, I love the community feel that East Dulwich has and it's this sense of community that we wish to serve.

Having spent the last year at home with a young baby, there have been moments when I’ve wondered…...what’s the best comedy night in the area, where can I exercise with a baby in tow, what’s the best bar-crawl route, is there a local tennis club, help I need some childcare, is that new restaurant any good, the garden needs some industrial pruning, where have I put the phone number for my favourite take-away….

Along with many others, I’m sure, I’ve picked up leaflets in shops on Lordship Lane, squirreled away fliers that dropped through the letterbox, filed away copies of local magazines that I can never find again…….but what I really wanted was a website I could go to for all my local queries.  Somewhere with very personal knowledge, insider information on all that East Dulwich has to offer.

And, that’s why I jumped at the chance of becoming editor for East Dulwich.  We are very much a local website with contributions from and for the people who live and work in the area.
