Earlsfield

Squashed between Wandsworth Common and solidly bourgeois Southfields, and sharing a postcode with Wandsworth it's no surprise that this is becoming an increasingly popular area with smart young people.

What's kept it from being closer in popularity to it's neighbours is the lack of tube, a concentration of council-built housing, and a scruffiness along the main roads. Popularity first rose in the heady days of the late '80s, but the area didn't quite make it into respectability until the 1990s. Now an increasing number of buyers are finding themselves outpriced in Battersea, Clapham and Wandsworth and heading down to Earlsfield where they seek streets close to the station and the parks.
