Borough High Street meanders south from London Bridge and is the centre of the oldest part of South London. Just south of the Cathedral is Borough Market, an atmospheric survival of Victorian London much used as a film set.
The market itself is known as 'London's Larder' and is a centre for fine foods. It's thronged with foodies on a Friday and Saturday and the mass of good restaurants and the Vinopolis wine exhibition mean that it's becoming a gourmet's paradise.
Properties around here are a real mix of new development flats, good old houses split into flats and some Georgian houses.
