Battersea is best known for the power station that sits imposingly over the river Thames. The property prices in this part of town are more reflective of those in Chelsea which is a short hop over the river.
A residential area with pleasant terraced houses of all sizes from cottage to ponderous late-Victorian mansionette, lofts converted from old factories and schools, council estates and ricerside flats. It sits on the river next to Battersea park and is also only a taxi ride to Sloane Square. Apart from that transport is pretty slim with no tube and a train station bursting under the seams of the commuters to Waterloo.
