Owner Susan Fairley talks to YourLocalLondon.com

Lily Boutique owner Susan Fairley talks to YourLocalLondon.com about her business & Battersea..
How long have you been in business?
I have been in business for 15 years (sole trader) at my other shop in Southfields but about 10 months in Battersea..
How long have you lived in the area? (if you do??)
I don't live in Battersea, but I do live in Wandsworth borough and was actually born there so have always been pretty local!
What do you like about Battersea? Why did you decide to open Lily here?
I decided to open in Northcote Road because I like the sense of community it has. It felt like a natural progression from the location of my other shop, and I felt that what I do would be received well here.
What made you decide to set up your own business? How was Lily born?
I have nearly all my working life been in fashion, from the production side and retail side, so it was an easy decision to make.
Who are your favourite designers?
I actually don't covet clothes from any particular big designers.I usually go for slightly random designers that people don't see around too much, or one off pieces for something special.
What are your future plans for Lily? Another shop? Selling online?
I would like to consider going on line at some point. At the moment two shops is enough!
What makes your business special?
I think our shop offers a friendly helpful service. We get to know what customers want, and are willing to go the extra mile.
